The Reading Room Trust has awarded grants, totalling more than £46,000

Hinton St George Reading Room Trust was registered as a charity in 2002.  The objects of the charity are “The provision and maintenance of a village hall”.  Our capital is permanently endowed and can only be used to achieve this object.

The trustees meet quarterly (March, June, September and December).   If you belong to a club or require funding for an event or project that you think would benefit the village please get in touch with any of the trustees.

The object of the charity is the provision and maintenance of a village hall for use by the inhabitants of the area of benefit without the distinction of political, religious or other opinions, including use for:

  • Meetings, lectures and classes
  • Other forms of recreation and leisure time occupation

with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants.

The aims of the charity in line with the Charities Act 2011 are:

  • The advancement of education
  • General Charitable purposes
